As we all know, when we receive medical treatment in the hospital that those lying on the sickbed are more seriously ill. They are equipped with some medical devices for vital signs monitoring, such as heart rate, pulse, blood pressure and other data can be clearly displayed through these devices. These data are very important, because they are an important basis for doctors to judge the condition of the disease.

It is the routine operation to measure the patient's vital signs in the course of treatment and nursing. Continuous monitoring of the vital signs of the patient is of great help to the early discovery of the patient's physical abnormalities. However, at present, these monitoring devices need to be directly exposed to human skin when they are used. For some inconveniently measured patients, it will lead to low accuracy and high cost of testing equipment.

Recently, a new technology has emerged or will solve these problems because it allows doctors to get data on vital signs without touching the skin of the patient.

According to Digital Trends's report that researchers at Cornell University have published a RFID tag in the Journal of nature electronics which can be used to monitor people's life characteristics.

When used it that the RFID tag is attached to the fabric antenna while the antenna is placed near the skin, such as shirt pocket or cuff . It can monitor the human life characteristics.

The noninvasive monitoring method is very mild. The patient no longer needs to deal with wires and electrodes.

The RFID tag is developed by Professor Edwin Kan and Xiaonan Hui. It uses a technology called near field coherent sensing which can directly transform the external and internal movement of patients into radio frequency signals. After receiving the RFID reader, the signal is transmitted to the computer for data analysis.

Through a number of tests that the new technology has been expected to monitor the signs of life. It is understood that in the future it may be possible to form a low-cost system for the simultaneous monitoring of vital signs for multiple people for use in hospitals.

It can collect the data of vital signs directly via clothes and to show it on the cell phone. Because according to graduate student Hui, RFID chips and RF antennas are powerful and will be made into wearable devices in the future.
