  2. Data Reading: The tag’s chip transmits the stored information back to the reader via the antenna. The reader can read data from multiple tags simultaneously.

  3. Data Transmission: The reader sends the collected tag information to the back-end management system, where the system updates the asset data in real-time.

The RFID reader does not need to be aimed directly at each tag and can read data over long distances and in bulk, greatly improving the speed and accuracy of asset inventory checks.

Application of RFID Technology in Fixed Asset Management

The collaboration between RFID readers and tags significantly enhances the efficiency of fixed asset management:

  • Quick Inventory: Using handheld RFID readers, large volumes of assets can be scanned over a short period, allowing for automated inventory without the inefficiencies of manually scanning each asset.

  • Lifecycle Management: RFID tags can store information about the asset’s condition, maintenance schedules, and more. When the reader scans the tag, the system automatically updates the data, helping companies better manage the usage and maintenance cycles of their assets.
